Florian Ellers has always found it very remarkable what dogs are capable of and what is possible with a human-dog team. He has been interested in IGP dog sports for many years.

It quickly became clear to him that he wanted to pursue the sport of eventing for working dogs!

In 2018, he was still completely inexperienced and looked for a Rottweiler and a dog park. Back then, while studying to become a civil engineer and living in a shared apartment in the middle of Bremen. With Sam (Grimm vom Cherniy Kumir) he fulfilled his dream of having his first dog in 2018.

He then ended up at the ADRK district group BG Warturm (Bremen) via a detour.

The team Sam and Florian traveled to Warturm several times a week, initially by bus and train, for training.

In 2022 the two started at the 70th ADRK DM in Kerpen/Platzheim. Unfortunately, both were disqualified in protection duty due to a rookie mistake by the dog handler. Florian pulled Sam into the basic position by his collar before the long corridor.

New year, new happiness, that’s Florian’s motto. This year we’ll be taking part in the German Championships again and hopefully without any mistakes on the part of the dog handler!
